Dear Parents/Guardians,
With all the preparation that has gone into this year, it is hard to believe that we are almost wrapping up our first quarter! I want to thank everyone for their support throughout the first quarter. I also wanted to reach out with some new information and notes as we begin to prepare for second quarter.
We will again be sending out a Google document on October 13th for you to sign your child up for in-person learning or remote learning. Please watch for this in your e-mail. We will need everyone to decide for the quarter if you want to send your child in person or have them utilize the remote learning option. As we did this quarter, at midterm, we will be looking to see how students are doing, as well as offering an option to change at midterm. You will have to fill the form out for each one of your students separately.
Some of you may have noticed that we now have a new website. The website address, poloschools.net, has not changed, but the look has. Please utilize the website as we will be adding more information to it. The website also has an app, which is available wherever you get your apps for your smart phone. Please search “Polo School District”. If you allow notifications in the settings of the app, you will receive up-to-date information. This information includes news at the schools, how to connect with teachers and administrators, and staying current with other information, such as bus times for sporting events.
The last item is that during the school year, we understand that travel can occur. If you are traveling to a “hotspot” your child will need to self-quarantine for 14 days after returning from the “hotspot”. Your child will be able to attend school through remote learning during that time. You can check out hotspots at http://www.dph.illinois.gov/covid19/travel. This website is updated every Tuesday.
I want to again say “thank you” for all the support for our teachers, paraprofessionals, secretaries, bus drivers, custodians, and administrators. Stay healthy, stay safe, and stay strong during this time.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kelly Mandrell
