Important Notice

Important Food Service Announcement for the 2022-2023 School Year

The USDA’s Pandemic Waiver which allowed our district to offer free meals to all students, regardless of family income has expired. What this means is that the district will have to return to the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) for the 2022-2023 school year.

The NSLP uses income based Household Eligibility Applicants to determine a student’s breakfast/lunch eligibility to receive free, reduced price or full price student meals.  The application can be found this year on the homepage of the Skyward parent portal.  It is very important for families to complete the application to determine their students’ breakfast/lunch eligibility.

Parents whose students are directly certified from the State of Illinois, will receive notification sometime in July. If you qualified for free or reduced during the 2021-2022 school year and aren’t directly certified or don’t receive a direct certified letter from the school, you have 30 days to re-apply. School fees will be waived or reduced when the application is approved. Free/reduced lunch forms can be filled out in Skyward, click on the FOOD SERVICE APPLICATIONS tile and click the green plus sign to Start New Application this and waiver of fees need to be filled out yearly, the waiver of fees forms can be found on our website at http://poloschools.net.
