Congratulations to the following students for receiving a Positive Office Referral in the month of March.

Our preschool morning students are enjoying some lunch for the first time with us. They are thrilled about being in the cafeteria.

The AM Preschool Students will be leaving the District at 1:00pm. If you would like to come and pick up your child that would be the time we are dismissing them. We have fed the students lunch in our cafeteria.

There will be no after school activities for Polo High School or Aplington Middle School today, Tuesday, April 4th.

We will have an open 2-year seat for the Polo Community Unit School District Board of Education. If you are interested in this position, please email Dr. Kelly Mandrell at kmandrell@poloschools.net. This seat will begin on April 26th.

Parents: Today, 4/4/23, Polo Community Unit Schools will be dismissing at 2:30 pm. This will give our buses time to get students home and safe before the next round of storms. This includes any student of ours that may go to a school outside of our district that we provide transportation to. Our students are out of a shelter-in-place. They were in this protocol from 11:20 until 11:45 pm.

We are extremely sorry for the short notice but there will be no PM PreK today, 4/4/23.

There will be no Whiteside Area Career Center today, 4/4/2023. At this time, all three schools are in our place of shelter for the storm. We will continue to keep you updated.

Due to the storm coming in we will be holding ALL morning prek students until the storm passes. We will send another alert when we dismiss them on the bus. Afternoon class will have a late start. We will send another text with more information on afternoon start time.

Book Balls (dodecahedrons, really) have become somewhat of a rite of passage at the 8th grade level. During the 3rd quarter, each student selected a novel, read it, and completed 12 different tasks related to the literature, such as writing a theme statement, identifying literary devices, providing a character analysis, etc. Each task is recorded inside a pentagon surrounded by a circle. Once all twelve tasks are completed, students cut out the circles and fold along the lines of the pentagons to create tabs that are then glued together, creating a “book ball”, which is displayed at Aplington for others to see.

3/20/23: Today's softball game is canceled. Today's baseball game is still on.
