Students in kindergarten have been learning how to become authors and illustrators! They first leaned to illustrate with crayons and add detail to their illustrations. They are now working hard to use pencils to label their illustrations and write their sentences. Here are a few examples from Mrs.Soltow's class!
Lucas Nelson placed 3rd and Draven Zier placed 4th at regionals! Both are moving on to sectionals for the IWCOA state wrestling series.

7th and 8th grade will have practice today 3:30-5 at Centennial. 6th grade practice has been cancelled.
Due to roads and the fog, the Polo Community School District will have a 2-hour delay on Thursday, February 23, 2023. There will be no AM Pre-Kindergarten. All activities for tonight are still going to happen at this time.
Thursday, February 23, 2023: There will be a two hour delay today. School starts at 10am. There will be no morning PreK. All afternoon activities are on.
On Friday, February 24th, there will be a band concert at 7:00 pm in the High School Gym. This concert is for high school band students and junior high band students that are in the study hall band. Please have your students there at 6:00 pm to help set up the gym. We are aware of the 7th/8th grade game in Forreston. So, please have those students to school as soon as possible. Please have your students dressed nicely. We look forward to seeing everyone.
2/22/23: The junior high wrestling meet scheduled for tonight at Durand has been cancelled. There will be no practice. The 7th/8th GBB game today at Forreston has been cancelled. We will reschedule to Friday, Feb 24 at 4pm.
The Polo Community Unit School District will be closed on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. We will be utilizing an E-Learning Day. Teachers will be available from 8am- 2pm. All evening events will be canceled as well.

Congratulations to Wyatt Doty and Josiah Perez for winning their match today. They need to win another match to medal and 2 more wins for 3rd place!
Ms. Ditzler received a Maggie and Amos Foundation Grant to purchase large wipebooks to use as vertical, non-permanent surfaces during math. The idea is from 'Building Thinking Classrooms' and is intended to promote problem solving, collaborative learning, and making mistakes during math. The fifth grade students are loving this new instructional strategy!
