Meet the Marcos will be held this Friday 8/20/21 starting at 6:30. This year it will all be held at the Football field for all Fall sports.
First day of school is Wednesday, August 18th. Dismissal will be at 11:10 A.M. for Aplington students. When your student arrives at school, please have them report to the following locations: 8th grade will go to the third floor, 7th grade will go to the second floor, and 6th grade will go to the first floor basement. Schedules and locker information will be handed out on each floor.

Aplington 6th grade and new student orientation will be held tonight from 5:00-6:30 P.M. New students and parent/guardians will be able to tour the building in small groups. Students will receive their schedules and information on Skyward, chromebooks, and the breakfast/lunch program will be given. Students and parents/guardians only please. Masks need to be worn in the building.
Update… Polo High school Volleyball will have practice tonight 8/16. Aplington volleyball practices are cancelled.

Dr. Mandrell previously sent out the BinaxNOW testing consent form via email - this is just a reminder that they need to be turned in as soon as possible if you are choosing for your child to have this testing option. It is NOT required and will not be performed without a consent form on file ahead of time. You can find a copy of the BinaxNOW Testing Consent Form on the school's website under "District" "Health Documents." It will allow rapid covid testing within the school setting by the school nurse. PCHS Class of 2021 Seniors...please stop in the office today or email jblake@poloschools.net to make arrangements to pick up your Yearbook before you head off to college or work. The other classes yearbooks will be distributed after the Seniors.
Thank you to this wonderful group of students that not only did the landscaping at Aplington, but also moved furniture, and boxes back into the elementary teachers classrooms. By helping out they were able to earn their community service hours. We truly appreciate all their hard work!!!
PCHS Football weightroom is cancelled tonight 8/5/21
All teams registered for the Polo Golf team's Golf tournament on Aug 7th please plan to arrive at Silver Ridge between 7:30-7:45 am.
Just a reminder, if your child is entering Kindergarten, they need to have completed a physical, vision check up, and dental checkup. For 2nd grade need to completed a dental checkup. For 6th grade, dental checkup and physical. For 9th grade they need to have completed a physical and dental checkup. For 12th grade, they must have the two doses of the meningococcal vaccine. All athletes 6th- 12th must have a yearly physical. The 6th and 9th grade physical are accepted for this.
On the school website, in Centennial Elementary School's Digital Backpack, is the transportation form. Please fill this out and email it to Mr. Downey at mdowney@poloschools.net.
Just a reminder that in town transportation is only in select areas and is only available PreK-5. Thank you!

Centennial's Back to School Night will be on Monday, August 16, 2021 at 4:00 for PreK, K, and any new student.
Letters informing parents of who their child's classroom teacher is will go out in the mail on the night of Thursday, August 5. If your child is not registered you will not receive a letter.
