BLOCK OUT CANCER Volleyball Game - Polo vs Milledgeville this Thursday 9/26! Come out and support Jacob Promenschenkel and his fight with cancer. MHS Boosters will be cooking up PORK CHOPS; starting at 5:15 we’ll be selling at the game in the concession stand and also in the parking lot outside the main entrance. The powderpuff game starts at 6:00 PM at the football field followed by powderbuff game, guy/girl dance, and other activities in the high school gym. And to end the night will be the bonfire behind the high school. Hope to see everyone there to celbrate Homecoming !
Polo Schools and Ogle County Health Dept. are hosting our annual flu vaccination clinic on Wednesday, September 25th at Polo schools. This is an optional event for students and staff in our district. 7/8 VB on September 18th at Forreston has changed to a 4:30pm start time for 7th grade, followed by 8th grade starting around 5:30pm. Bus time is 3:55pm behind Aplington.
Great job to the students and staff at the Polo Community Unit School District, Polo Police Department, and Ogle County Sheriff's Department for completing the mandated intruder drill! Regular drills like these are crucial for ensuring the safety of students and staff in the event of an emergency. King candidates - Noah Dewey, Jeffrey Donaldson, Dawson Foster, Kale Grobe, Kameron Grobe, Kailin Gulbranson, Billy Lowry, Gus Mumford, Logan Nelson, Carl Vock, and Gage Zeigler. Queen candidates - Bella Bergstrom, Courtney Davis, Mazy Queckboerner, Katelyn Rockwood, and Alayna Young.
The halls of PCHS were filled with the sweet smell of zucchini muffins on Friday as FACS and Nutrition students completed their first baking project. Each class worked in small groups, determining who was responsible for each task, confirming the correct measurements and techniques required for each step, and ensuring everyone took an equitable part in cooking and cleaning up. Students also shredded our leftover zucchini for use this winter, when we're ready for a little taste of summer. The result was delicious and Mrs. Bawinkel could not be more proud of her kids!
Calling all little royals! Nominations for Homecoming Prince and Princess are now being accepted. All nominees must be ages 4-6. The lucky winners will be announced on Tuesday, September 3rd, in a random drawing. Homecoming duties are Friday, September 13th and Saturday, September 14th.
