Dear Parents/Guardians,
As summer is ending, I wanted to reach out and let you know about our Back to School Night at Aplington Middle School.
We will be having a Back to School Night on August 12th for all 6th grade students and all new students grades 6th-8th. We will begin at 5:00 pm. Please come directly to the gym as, we will go over a few things, and then students and parents will be able to tour the building as well as put away school supplies! Please bring those supplies with you as this is a great time to have the students leave them in their lockers! We know that this helps to get the jitters out prior to the first day. This will only last until 6:00pm as we all have an early morning the next day!! We look forward to seeing everyone there.
The first day of school will be on August 13th from 8:10 am-11:15 am. We will be releasing early on that day. On August 14th and 15th, we will be releasing at 2:00 p.m. As you know, Aplington is not air conditioned. However, if the days are hot, we will be utilizing rooms at the high school to keep the students cool. Please send a water bottle with your student, every day. We have both bottle fillers and the drinking fountains.
Please make sure that your students are fully registered prior to the first day. Without them being fully registered they are unable to start on August 13th!
